Many people believe that Hermitage Roanoke has a similar atmosphere to the tight-knit neighborhood where they grew up. Warm and welcoming, it’s a community of good people who take a genuine interest in one another’s well-being. It’s where elegance and hospitality meet a modern sensibility to offer the perfect balance of everything that matters most for retirement living.
Here on a wooded 10-acre campus adjacent to Roanoke Country Club, our roots took hold in 1964. At the heart of it all is Casselwold, the beautiful Georgian mansion dating back to 1916. From that strong beginning, our active senior living community has grown to build a reputation and a great sense of community. It’s hard to imagine a more comfortable, social and activity-filled setting in the heart of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains.
We are proud to be Roanoke’s only faith-inspired, not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) that does not require a hefty entrance fee. Residents enjoy the freedom of an active lifestyle without the burdens of homeownership, like daily chores, yard work or maintenance, and paying bills.
But the greatest comfort is knowing that if your needs change, our continuum of high-quality health services is here for you on our picturesque campus.
It’s what makes Hermitage Roanoke one of the best retirement communities in Virginia.
Since 1948, Pinnacle Living has grown from a single community serving seniors to four retirement communities across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Throughout our history, we have continued to evolve, updating services to meet the needs of those we serve.
As a not-for-profit, faith-inspired organization, Pinnacle Living exists to better lives, not to generate better profits for shareholders. The Wesleyan spirit inspires our team members, volunteers, board and leadership to serve the world’s needs. We are proud of our heritage and continue to operate as a mission-driven organization that welcomes people of all faiths.
Hermitage Roanoke is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), a hallmark of quality. Fewer than 15% of U.S. Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) have earned CARF accreditation.
